DevOps & Platform Engineer

Iurie Plesu

Complex systems. Clear operations.

I design and operate Kubernetes platforms, AWS infrastructure and delivery systems that remain understandable, observable and reliable as they evolve.

About me

I build and run the platforms teams deliver on.

I'm a Platform Engineer with 5+ years in production AWS environments. At Kensium, I operate the platform behind five commerce and ERP applications.

I own multi-environment EKS operations and the Git-managed delivery workflows used by CloudOps and SRE. My work covers infrastructure design, Kubernetes reliability, Kafka streaming and observability, with developer self-service in lower environments and explicit controls for production.

Earlier, at Mindsight, I standardized AWS environments with reusable Terraform modules and replaced manual release steps with container CI/CD. Provisioning dropped from approximately one working day to three hours.

Full experience & credentials
01 / Delivery ownership

Application releases separated from infrastructure.

I replaced Terraform-driven releases with GitHub Actions and Argo CD. Developers gained self-service in lower environments; CloudOps and SRE retained production controls.

02 / Cost and reliability

Capacity policy matched to workload risk.

I replaced Cluster Autoscaler with Karpenter and used Spot for eligible non-production workloads. Critical services stayed on On-Demand capacity.

03 / Change management

Traffic migrated through staged validation.

I moved ingress-nginx traffic to Gateway API through parallel validation and incremental cutover, consolidating routing and TLS ownership while preserving availability.
